Little Princess Trust photography – Northamptonshire I was asked by Lauren’s mum to photography local hairdresser Abbie Rock cut a ponytail of Lauren’s hair for the Little Princess Trust. We gathered with close family to watch Abbie tie and cut her hair. It was an emotional thing to watch, not so much for Lauren losing her long locks, as she had prepared and decided a while ago to donate the ponytail and has raised £250 so far as well, so that a young girl or boy, or maybe two could benefit from her shiny hair. As the sharp scissors cut through her thick locks there was silence, it then revealed her new shoulder length hair and Abbie spent time cutting and shaping to create a new style for Lauren. Her adorable daughter looked on and said she wanted to do the same, which made us smile, but she was discouraged. The Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge for boys and girls throughout the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment. A traumatic and emotional time enough for the children and their families to cope with, losing our hair can also be a huge loss and for children, having hair again helps with their self asteem and other children’s comments.
